OL’ PUB Bar and Grill
San Juan, La Union

One of the top tourist destinations in the North today is in San Juan, La Union. It has exponentially changed the town to a place where you can spend the night of partying. A nightlife that could make it even better with awesome drinks and great food. Let me introduce to you our new favorite place to chill, OL’ PUB Bar and Grill.

It’s called “Ol’ Pub” because it’s the “good old pub” that you’ll definitely come back to when you get to explore the top tourist spot in San Juan, La Union, the surfing capital of the North. It was also based on the name of the owners’ father, Pablo. Actually, the owner’s first goal is to put up the place like a beer garden in the Surfing Capital of the North, but then they decided to expand the theme of the bar not just for beer-drinkers but also to add delectable and tasty food to enjoy your meal either for lunch served from 11:00am – 2:00pm or dinner.

This bar and grill serves all cold drinks that suits your mood. Beers are priced perfectly. You name it, they have it. The Ol’ Pub signature cold drink is served and it is a combination of a dark run Malibu pineapple juice dash of grenadine. Just perfect for everyone while you get to enjoy listening to the music played. The place has also their own spot for special band who can actually play acoustic and alternative music that will totally boost your mood while chilling with your friends and barkadas.

Ol’ Pub serves Pinoy pub food that displays a unique twist of scrumptious food you can have while drinking your favorite cold drinks. One of their bestselling starters is the good old,

  • KFC–or a combination of the Pinoy street food kikiam, fishballs, chicken balls, and hotdogs. It’s the perfect beer partner for those who just want the traditional Pinoy pulutan.

They also have their all-time favorite, I must say everyone must try! They have the,

  • Sausage Platter which has four types of juicy and very filling sausages–perfect appetizers to start the night.
  • The Satay Balls are for those who are into Macau’s famous seafood-style street food.

These are mouthwatering food you can always have for more. They also offer scrumptious meals like :

  • Tuna Kilawin –Ol’ Pub just takes the Tuna to a whole new different dimension. The spiciness of the dish is just right as it elevates the experience but doesn’t takes over the whole dish.
  • Summer Salad – A medley of fresh greens fruits drizzled with their recipe of a special strawberry vinaigrette that will remind you of summer. The playful texture of the salad just climbs as the dash of nuts rolls into your mouth. This is a totally must order off of the menu!
  • Quarter Rosemary Chicken – Roasted to perfection the rice dish is served with whole spinach leaves.
  • Tapa – a classic Filipino TapSiLog Ol’ Pub’s served with coleslaw to tame the spiciness. Some may say that this dish tastes ordinary but if you have a bit of a sensitive taste bud you’ll definitely love.

The Ol’ Pub bar and grill is designed like a vintage rustic theme where you get to see old stuffs around the place. Pub exudes a young and energetic ambiance, that’s great when bonding with friends after a good day’s surfing. Big bikes, old typewriter, old clock, old camera and other vintage stuff that’s all about cars are displayed around the place to see and feel the ambiance of a good old pub. And the highlight of the decor is the actual US war jeepney from the 1950’s on display by the entrance of the pub.

The place has always been in a full house set up since tourists, locals, travelers, people looking for fun, and people hanging out with friends get to visit this place, and they get to enjoy the amazing drinks and food served. The staff and waiters of the bar has been very friendly and welcoming as always.

So, hey! What are you waiting for? Just take a table and not worry about how your bill is going to be, I tell you, you’ll be surprised how cheap they are, thinking that the place is nicely set up and surely you’ll enjoy the night with your friends and barkadas!
